Congress spokesperson Dr Shama Mohamed labelled the Indian captain “overweight and the most unimpressive captain India has ever had.” When Rohit Sharma, captain of India, was dismissed for 15 runs off 17 balls in the Champions Trophy against New Zealand, which India won by 44 runs, there was an outrage on Twitter with many-a-BJP spokesperson, including Shehzad Poonawalla, claiming that the ones who once opposed the country now seemed to be targeting the Indian cricket team.
He further stated that “the Congress, who calls itself the shop of love, is nothing but messengers of hate.”
