On Sunday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Gujarat Titans made IPL history by chasing down a target of 200 or more without losing a wicket. Sai Sudharsan led the charge with a brilliant 108 off 61 balls, while Shubman Gill supported him with a strong 93 off 53. Together, they reached 205 runs in just 19 overs.
Previously, the highest chase without a loss was 184 runs by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2017. Sudharsan hit 12 fours and four sixes, while Gill found the boundary with seven sixes and three fours.
DC’s strategy to open with spinners didn’t work as GT raced to 31 runs in two overs. Sudharsan was especially aggressive, taking 20 runs off T Natarajan. Although Mustafizur Rahman and Dushmantha Chameera had some tight overs, GT ended the powerplay at 59 runs with no wickets down.
Sai reached his half-century first, and Gill quickly picked up the pace, hitting big sixes. By the 15th over, GT was at 154 runs, and Sudharsan capped off the chase with a six to score his century off just 56 balls.
