Harry Brook is now the number one Test batsman in the ICC rankings, ahead of Joe Root. This comes after Brook’s century in the second Test against India at Edgbaston. Brook’s Test rating is 886, Root is second with 868. Shubman Gill, the India captain, is sixth after scoring 269 and 161 at Edgbaston, the most runs by an Indian in a Test match.
Gill is 79 points behind Brook. The top five is completed by Root, Kane Williamson, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Steve Smith.
England’s wicketkeeper Jamie Smith moved from 26 to 10 after scores of 184 not out and 88 in the second Test against India. Wiaan Mulder of South Africa jumped 12 places to 22 after his 367 not out against Zimbabwe.

Mulder also moved to third in the Test all-rounder list, behind Ravindra Jadeja of India.
Even though he missed the Test at Edgbaston, Jasprit Bumrah is still the number one bowler in Test cricket. His teammate Mohammed Siraj moved 6 places to 22 in that list.
In the ODI rankings, Charith Asalanka, the Sri Lanka captain, is now sixth among batsmen and Kusal Mendis is 10th. Wanindu Hasaranga, the Sri Lankan spinner, took 9 wickets in 3 matches in the ODI series against Bangladesh and is now 8th among bowlers.
