LSG has appointed Bharat Arun as their bowling coach for 2026 IPL. Sources say he left KKR yesterday. The 2024 champions want to make changes after a season they’d rather forget.
KKR, LSG and Arun haven’t said anything officially. But Cricbuzz says Arun has signed a 2 year contract with LSG.
With Arun joining LSG’s coaching staff, it looks like they will move on from Zaheer Khan, the fast bowler who has been their mentor. Also looks like former Australian coach Justin Langer won’t have his contract renewed. Sanjeev Goenka’s franchise is looking to comeback in 2026 season.
News of Arun’s appointment comes a day after KKR let go of head coach Chandrakant Pandit. Now KKR has 2 open coaching positions. Word is KKR will find new coaches after a thorough process.

The franchise is very proud that many of their former coaches and staffs like Gautam Gambhir, Ryan ten Doeschate, Abhishek Nayar, Brendon McCullum, Trevor Bayliss and physio Kamlesh Jain have gone on to coach Indian and England national teams.
Bharat Arun and KKR parted ways on good terms. Dwayne Bravo was also in charge of bowling tactics. Everyone agreed that having too many people involved wasn’t ideal. KKR also has a rule that they don’t stop their staff from growing in their careers. This was communicated to Arun when he asked the franchise to let him leave.
