The Gujarat Titans (GT) take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for match number 51 in the IPL 2025 season at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. On the eve of the match, GT Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki was questioned about Shubman Gill’s back spasm, which had ruled him out from the previous match against Rajasthan Royals. Gill was not seen on the field during the match, with Rashid Khan acting as the captain in his absence. Gill later spoke about his back giving him trouble.
Solanki had said Gill might be fit for the match against Sunrisers scheduled for tonight. During the pre-match press conference, he was positive about Gill’s availability after practice.
“His condition is being monitored concerning the back spasm. He is training today, and we will assess his condition,” Solanki stated to India Today.
Gill is quite the impressive player and has shown a lot of consistency off late. Although he had a rough start to the season, he has recovered to excel alongside Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler in the GT lineup.
The Titans are going well, having won six out of their first nine games. A win tonight would send them up the IPL 2025 points table, which is currently being led by the in-form Mumbai Indians.
