Sunrisers Hyderabad‘ Jaydev Unadkat spoke about the troubles in which his team is finding itself currently in the IPL. He stated that to win, it has to be an overall performance from the bowling lineup. If two or three bowlers bowl well with others not stepping up, then it becomes very tough to win. With Sunrisers Hyderabad coming off a 38-run loss to Gujarat Titans, Unadkat shared his opinions about their team performance and their not-so-good time.
He stated that ideally there should be three or four bowlers coming into the picture for every match. Right now it appears whenever two bowlers seem to be doing well, the other ones are not with them. On the other hand, in the last match, bowling first, Hyderabad could not sustain themselves through the batting of Gujarat, who finished with a very high score of 224.
Unadkat quite rightly mentioned that bowling is like partnerships in batting. When one bowler is on the off side, the pressure goes onto the other bowlers and this messes up the game plan. He confided that they have not been the most formidable bowling unit of the tournament, and for winning games, they really need to turn it up a notch.
Hyderabad made the finals in IPL 2024 and had a great start in 2025, but they have lost their way, lying at the bottom with just three wins in ten matches. With their fixture against the Delhi Capitals on May 5, a loss there will almost certainly end their playoff hopes.
