Before his comeback to the Indian team, Karun Nair had a bit of a scare in the nets. He got hit on the stomach while batting against Prasidh Krishna. Though it looked painful, Nair was quick to reassure everyone that he was fine and even shared a laugh with the support staff about it.
India’s first Test against England is on June 20 in Leeds and it’s the start of their ICC World Test Championship campaign. Nair is looking to play his first Test since 2017 and has earned his spot after a good show in domestic cricket, including helping Vidarbha win the Ranji Trophy.

Nair has played six Tests since his debut in 2016. After a tough start in his first two matches, he made a name for himself with a triple hundred but struggled in the series against Australia and was dropped.
India wants to start their WTC campaign on a high after missing out on the final last time. With senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin retiring, the focus will be on the young players to adjust to the English conditions. Shubman Gill is the new captain for the first time and Rishabh Pant is the vice-captain.
