After their win in Birmingham, India is doing well and has levelled the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series with England. After being criticized for losing the first Test, India played much better in the second Test and won by 336 runs. This is their biggest win in a Test abroad by runs. The series is now 1-1.
Before the match, everyone was talking about the team combination and if India should add more aggressive bowlers. India chose to rest Jasprit Bumrah and add Washington Sundar to strengthen their batting.
The result shows that India’s decision was right. But, former England captain Kevin Pietersen thinks India needs more types of bowlers. He thinks Kuldeep Yadav should play in the third Test to make their attack better.
Pietersen told timesofIndia.com that India is missing variety in their bowling.
Pietersen worked with Kuldeep during IPL 2025 as a team mentor for Delhi Capitals. He said they discussed how to bowl in England where conditions are generally better for fast bowlers.
Pietersen said he sat with Kuldeep and they talked about bowling in England. They spent time discussing tactics and how to bowl. He wants to see him play.

Kuldeep has played only 13 Tests since his debut in 2017. With Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in the team, the wrist spinner has spent a lot of time as a substitute.
Now that Ashwin has retired, it was thought that Kuldeep would be the main spinner but that hasn’t happened yet.
Pietersen wants to see Kuldeep play because he enjoys bowling and taking wickets. He doesn’t want his friends to be substitutes.
