Litton Das has been handed the captaincy of the Bangladesh cricket team for the upcoming T20I tours to Pakistan and the UAE. They have announced a fairly young squad of 16 players, involving ex-captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and a host of other promising talents in Bangladesh cricket. Bangladesh will kick off their tour by playing two T20Is against the UAE in Sharjah on May 17 and 19, before departing for Pakistan for a five-match T20I series starting May 25.
Although he has not been in good form lately, he had led the team to a whitewash against West Indies in December 2024, so the selectors kept him as the captain of this format. Mahedi Hasan joins the leadership group and will be the vice-captain.

Star all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz is conspicuous by his absence. Besides Mahedi, Rishad Hossain will join the team as the other spin option. The pace attack will be led by Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Nahid Rana, and Shoriful Islam. Some powerful batsmen like Soumya Sarkar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Tanzid Hasan, and Parvez Hossain Emon form the batting lineup. All eyes will be on Tawhid Hridoy, who has been very dependable in terms of runs for Bangladesh lately.
