Looks like Mayank Yadav might be back with the Lucknow Super Giants around April 11 or 12. He’s been working on getting better after a back injury.
He had some back trouble earlier this year. After playing for India against Bangladesh in T20Is last year, he worked on getting back in shape at the BCCI center in Bengaluru. He’s started bowling again recently.
There were reports that Mayank might miss the first part of the IPL 2025 season, but it seems he’ll be joining the LSG team soon. Someone close to the situation told Sports Tak that Mayank is looking good in practice and seems ready to play. LSG just needs the okay from the Centre Of Excellence before he can join the squad.
The source mentioned that the team is hoping he’ll be able to join the team soon. If Mayank is back by April 11 or 12, he’ll have missed at least the first 7 games, including matches against Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Chennai Super Kings.
Mayank really grabbed everyone’s attention in the IPL 2024 season with his great performances. He took 3 wickets in his first game against Punjab Kings and then was named Player Of The Match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Unfortunately, a side strain limited how much he could play that season.
Even with the injury, LSG still trusts him and kept him on the team for 11 crore rupees. LSG mentor Zaheer Khan said that the team wants Mayank to be 150 percent fit.
Zaheer mentioned that they really want him to play in IPL 2025, but they want to make sure he’s completely ready.
LSG is kicking off their IPL 2025 season against DC on March 24 in Vizag.
