With the IPL season of 2025 being more in the air, the Delhi Capitals (DC) are facing two major problems. The first is the possible return of star bowler Mitchell Starc, and the second is of course, replacing him with Mustafizur Rahman. It had been a little awkward for Starc at the airport when a vlogger came a bit too close. The video went viral, showing Starc totally irritated as the enthusiastic vlogger called him “the best player in the IPL.
This happened soon after the league went into an indefinite suspension due to tensions on the India-Pakistan border. Starc, who had joined DC on a big-money contract, had left India mid-season and had no plans to return.

Meanwhile, DC confirmed Jake Fraser-McGurk to be out after a terrible season and Mustafizur Rahman to replace him. But here’s the catch: Mustafizur has gone to Dubai for a T20I series against the UAE, and if he plays both matches, he will miss DC’s match against Gujarat Titans on the 20th of May.

The Delhi Capitals confirmed Mustafizur as the replacement for Fraser-McGurk and are in discussions with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for an early release of the player. This is an important negotiation since the BCB gets a portion of the player’s contract fee.
