So, it looks like Babar Azam and Naseem Shah are skipping the National T20 Cup this year, even though they were expected to play. This comes after they were both dropped from the T20I team for the New Zealand series. You’d think this domestic cup would be their shot at getting back on the team.
Word is that they’re sitting this one out because they have a packed schedule coming up. Pakistan has the ODIs against New Zealand, and then the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is kicking off next month.
Mohammad Rizwan was also dropped from the T20I team and replaced by Agha Salman as captain. People thought he might play in the National T20 Cup, but he’s not on the list either. It’s a missed chance for these three to score some runs.
On the bright side, all three are on the ODI squad for the New Zealand series, so they’ll have a time to make their mark in white-ball cricket
