Navjot Singh Sidhu, the former Indian batsman and commentator, says Karun Nair’s problems are clear after some poor scores in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Nair is back in the Test team because of good domestic form, but hasn’t delivered. He has scored 131 runs in 6 innings, averaging 21.83.
Nair started his Test career amazingly, scoring a triple century in his 3rd match, but then he was out of favor with the selectors. Good domestic form and the retirement of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli gave him another chance, but so far he hasn’t been good enough.
Karun Nair has played 3 Tests and he is a very good player. But his technical flaws are now visible, Sidhu said on his YouTube channel.
Sidhu feels India hasn’t given Sai Sudharsan a fair chance, giving him just one Test to prove himself. Sudharsan made his debut in the first match in Leeds but was benched after scoring 0 and 30 in his first two innings.
The main thing is, are you trying to win tomorrow or build a team? I think it’s about winning. So, what did Sai Sudharsan do wrong? Sidhu asked.

He is one of India’s most talented cricketers. He won an Orange Cap in the IPL. IPL is different from Test cricket, but he’s in good form. Technically he’s very sound, a low-center-of-gravity batsman. His eye-hand coordination is great, his head is always steady and he’s a left-hander. Why shouldn’t he be in the team?
India is 1-2 down in the series and changes are expected as they try to stay in the contest. Reports suggest Sudharsan might come in and Nair might be dropped for the 4th Test in Manchester.
