Outer Delhi Warriors, the newest team in the Delhi Premier League (DPL T20), will start playing from Season 2, as per the team’s statement.
The franchise made its presence felt by bidding the highest at Rs 10.6 crore. They signed IPL star Priyansh Arya as their key player before the player auction on July 6.
Arya was a star in DPL 2024 with 608 runs and 6 sixes in an over. He then starred in the IPL with Punjab Kings this year, scoring 475 runs at a rate of 179.24.
His return to the DPL shows the Outer Delhi Warriors’ intent.
Rajeshree Shete Iyer, founder of Platinum One Media & Consulting, is the Chief Executive Officer for the team’s first season. Iyer is known for her brand-focused approach and will try to build a fearless team for the future.
Sunil Aggarwal, Chairman of Savita Paints Private Limited, is the owner. He said, Outer Delhi has always been spirited. Now we have a platform. We have created this team for the long run and with leaders like Rajeshree Shete Iyer, we are off to a great start. Her experience and energy is perfect to lead this team.
The Warriors have also appointed Ashu Dani as Head Coach. Dani, a former Ranji Trophy player, has lot of experience and local cricket knowledge.
