Even though Pat Cummins led SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) to a solid 42-run win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL Match 65, he ended up with a fine from the BCCI for a Code of Conduct violation. On Saturday, May 24, the BCCI announced that Cummins was fined INR 12 lakh for a slow over-rate. His team didn’t keep up with the required pace while RCB was batting. This is Cummins’ first offense related to over-rate under the IPL rules.
The BCCI noted that since it was their first time this season getting marked for this issue, Cummins received that fine. It’s worth mentioning that RCB’s captain, Rajat Patidar, was also fined. Despite this setback for Cummins, SRH celebrated a strong performance, highlighted by Ishan Kishan scoring 94 runs and Cummins making smart decisions with his bowling. Now, RCB will need to regroup for their last league game as they look to build some momentum before the playoffs.
