Pat Cummins had a day to remember on the second day of the World Test Championship final at Lord’s against South Africa. He took 6 for 28 in 18.1 overs and in the process broke a few records. His 6 for 28 gave the defending champions a slight lead in the first innings. He’s now the 8th Australian and 40th overall to take 300 wickets in Test cricket.
At 32 he’s one of the fastest to do it, taking 13,725 balls to get there, three balls quicker than West Indies great Malcolm Marshall. He’s also joint 10th quickest to 300 wickets with Imran Khan, taking 68 Tests to get there. Under his captaincy he’s taken 136 wickets, just short of Imran’s 187 as a pace bowling captain.
