The injured Pratika Rawal was in her wheelchair and apparently found it difficult to take food by herself, which, in turn, made Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come by her side and serve her personally. The heartwarming gesture showed the Prime Minister’s humility and genuine care for the players, thus adding an emotional aspect to the overall event.
In addition to the moment of the heartwarming gesture from the Indian Prime Minister, the Indian women’s team also presented Narendra Modi with a specially-designed Indian jersey with his nickname ‘NAMO’ inscribed on it.
However, Pratika Rawal, whose injuries prevented her from playing in the semifinal and final, was the tournament’s top run-scorer with a total of 308 runs in only six innings at an impressive average of 51.33. She notched one match-winning century against New Zealand and another sparkling fifty against Australia in the league stage.
