Indian star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recently shared his views on what the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) would have to do to win IPL 2025. He said Gujarat Titans must defeat Mumbai Indians to keep them from reaching the final, for having Mumbai in the final could be a big advantage for them as, according to him, they are actually the only ones who might be able to take on RCB on the final in such a situation.
If Mumbai manages to win against Gujarat this Friday, then they will go against Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2, with the winners then going up against RCB in the final on June 3. He stated on his YouTube channel, “If RCB wants to win IPL, they’ve got to stop the Mumbai Indians from making it to the final. RCB will really hope not to see them there because they’re a tough opponent.”
He feels it has also been much discussed, which can be a factor for RCB this year, as Virat Kohli is yet to win an ICC title.
Bengaluru, having secured their IPL final spot for the first time in nine years, dominated with an eight-wicket win over Punjab in Qualifier 1 on Thursday. Punjab declare aggressive intentions, bowled out for a mere 101 runs. It was a matter of merely ten overs for RCB to get that score down, aided by a rampant one-man show by opener Phil Salt, who blazed away 56 runs off 27 balls. Punjab can still sneak back in Qualifier 2 on June 1 for the final spot.
