RCB started in 2008, originally owned by Vijay Mallya who was a big name in India’s liquor scene and owned Kingfisher Airlines. When Mallya got into trouble, Diageo took over RCB through its subsidiary United Spirits.
Despite not having the best record in the league, RCB is one of the most popular teams on social media with a huge fan following.
