Rishabh Pant, the aggressive batsman with a great attitude, brought his usual energy to The Kapil Sharma Show. He was accompanied by head coach Gautam Gambhir and made the audience laugh with his quick wit and funny jokes.
A funny moment came when Kapil asked Pant to name the jija (brother-in-law) of the Indian cricket team. Pant with a smile said it was Mohammed Shami.
Everyone laughed and Gautam Gambhir said, “Tell him, Jija, you haven’t been home for two years!” It seems Shami got the nickname from asking questions and sometimes complaining and his teammates started calling him ‘jija’ jokingly.
Although Shami is out of the team for months due to injury, he is still part of the team’s conversations and jokes. He is not playing in the England series but might be considered for the Australia tour later in the year.
Shami is also working hard to get back. In a recent video, he posted himself lifting weights and exercising to show he’s getting fit for a comeback.

Note: Shami had a court case recently. The Calcutta High Court ordered him to pay Rs. 4 lakh monthly to his ex-wife Hasin Jahan and their daughter.
This was after Jahan appealed a 2023 court ruling that gave her Rs. 50,000 and their daughter Rs. 80,000 each month. The new order is much higher. This might add to Shami’s woes as he tries to recover from his injury and get back to the team.
