Roston Chase has been appointed as the new Test captain of the West Indies cricket team. He took over the reins in mid-May, subsequent to Kraigg Brathwaite having resigned. Chase’s initial assignment as captain will be a three-match home series against Australia from June to July.
He has not played any game since March 2023, which means it’s been more than two years since he appeared in a Test match. Since making his debut in July 2016, Chase has appeared in 49 Tests, making well over 2,000 runs, including five centuries and 11 fifties. With his off-spin bowling, he has also scalped 85 wickets.
