On July 23, Tamil Nadu spinner R. Sai Kishore got his first County Championship wicket. Playing for Surrey against Yorkshire in a Division One match, he got Jonny Bairstow out on a rain-curtaunted day.
The County Championship is becoming a favourite destination for Indian cricketers who want to play Test cricket for India. Ishan Kishan, Yuzvendra Chahal, Sai Kishore, Tilak Varma and Khaleel Ahmed have recently played County games in England.
Kishore, in his first County stint with Surrey, got the wicket of Yorkshire captain Jonny Bairstow. Bairstow was batting well with 72 runs and had shared an 88-run partnership with Revis. Trying to hit Kishore over mid-on, Bairstow mistimed the shot and was caught by Will Jacks after scoring 72 off 90 balls with one six and 12 fours.
The left-arm spinner bowled well and ended the day with 1/53 from 26 overs.

After Bairstow’s dismissal, Revis was not out on 34 and Will Sutherland was on 6 when the rain came back. Play was stopped and Yorkshire finished Day 2 at 376 for 5 in 110.1 overs.
Kishore signed a two-game County Championship deal with Surrey in July 2025 and started his English county stint. He has 192 first-class wickets and a good red-ball record. Kishore hopes his time in England will get him picked for the national team and get him ready for the 2025-26 Indian season. His stint is short because the Indian domestic season is around the corner and pre-season camp is about to start.
