Rishabh Pant was hurt on the first day of the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford in Manchester.
Pant was batting with Sai Sudharsan and had 37 when he tried to reverse sweep Chris Woakes. The ball hit the side of his boot.
India’s physio helped Pant and he was taken off the field on a stretcher. Ravindra Jadeja came in to bat.
Sanjiv Goenka, the owner of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL, tweeted to Pant before Day 2 of the Old Trafford Test. Goenka wished Pant a speedy recovery and called him a fighter.

The injury happened in the 68th over of India’s innings on Day 1. Pant said he was in a lot of pain after being hit on the foot. He was taken off the field with 37 off 48 balls.

Not sure if Pant will bat again in the innings. Sai Sudharsan said Pant might not play which is a big worry for Indian fans. Sudharsan said Pant was batting well but the team will miss him if he can’t come back.
India will start Day 2 at 264-4 from 83 overs. Ravindra Jadeja (19) and Shardul Thakur (19) are batting together with a partnership of 29 runs.
