Shikhar Dhawan is releasing his autobiography, The One. He announced this on an emotional Instagram post that has got fans excited. Dhawan, the aggressive batsman and the resilient one is sharing his story.
Dhawan said, Not every win makes it to the highlights. Not every loss shows on the scoreboard. ‘The One’ is the story of all the in-betweens. Of learning, unlearning and showing up every single time.
The One will take you through Dhawan’s life, from his childhood in Delhi and his dream of playing for India to his time as a successful Indian opener in limited-overs cricket. The book will cover his cricketing achievements, struggles with self doubt, injuries and personal growth.
The One will have Dhawan’s life story, career highlights, personal challenges, leadership roles and his introspective struggles. It’s about dreaming, falling, learning and rising again.
Dhawan has retired from Indian cricket. He announced his retirement on Instagram. Known for scoring runs easily, Dhawan did well for India, especially in ODIs.
In 167 ODIs, he scored 6,793 runs at an average of 44.1, with 17 centuries and 39 fifties. In 34 Test matches, he scored 2,315 runs at an average of 40.6, with 7 centuries and 5 half-centuries.
In T20Is, he played 68 matches, scoring 1,759 runs at an average of 27.9, with 11 fifties. In domestic cricket, he played 122 First-Class matches, scoring 8,499 runs at an average of 44.26, with 25 centuries and 29 fifties.
