Stuart Broad thinks Jofra Archer should sit out the series decider against India at The Oval this week.
Broad doesn’t want England to risk Archer, especially after he’s just come back into the Test team after four years.
Broad wants Gus Atkinson to play in Archer’s place for the series decider.
Broad said on Sky Sports after India’s draw against England in Manchester that Atkinson should be in the England XI for the fifth Test. Broad thinks Atkinson needs to face tough Test cricket because he hasn’t been tested yet. He said:
“I think Gus Atkinson has to play. I know he’s not had a workload, but we need to see him. He hasn’t been really challenged against top level opposition in Test cricket yet.”

Stuart Broad wants Jofra Archer to sit out to not get injured again. He said:
“We can’t not have Archer for four years, bring him back and then bowl him into the ground and not see him for another four years.”
Jofra Archer came back into the England Test team this month against India at Lord’s. He took five wickets in the match but struggled against Indian batsmen on Day 5 at Old Trafford.
The fifth Test between India and England starts on July 31 in London.
