India finished their practice in Beckenham and posed for some official photos before heading to Leeds for the first Test against England which starts on June 20 at Headingley. On Tuesday, BCCI shared a fun video on X where the players were having a good time during the shoot. Jasprit Bumrah pointed to India’s logo, Rishabh Pant smiled, Nitish Kumar Reddy showed off his bat, Shardul Thakur looked serious, Sai Sudharsan made everyone laugh, KL Rahul and Washington Sundar posed.
Before leaving for Leeds, India had an intra-squad match in Beckenham to work on their game strategy. The five Tests will be part of the World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle and a new chapter for Indian cricket. India last won a Test series in England in 2007. Their luck hasn’t changed much in England but the home team has become a strong unit under Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes who haven’t lost a Test series at home since McCullum took over in 2022.

This time India will be without their star batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli who have retired from Test cricket. They will also miss their off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin who has stepped away from international cricket during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
