Kevin Pietersen, the former England cricketer and mentor for Delhi Capitals, shared an uplifting message for both the team and its fans on Friday. His post warmly acknowledged a standout player, Vipraj Nigam, who played a key role in DC’s recent victory against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. During a time when the team is on a fantastic winning streak, Pietersen reminded everyone to keep their perspective in check. He pointed out that even though things are going well, they should remain calm since the group stage of the IPL is far from over, with plenty of matches still to come.
Pietersen tweeted, “Just a heads up – the IPL is a long game, sort of like a marathon, not a sprint. It’s awesome that we’re playing so well right now, but we all know that the real big matches are in May! It’s fantastic to be winning for our supporters at @DelhiCapitals. And let’s give a shout-out to our young talent, Vippi! He’s quite the player!”

Whilst it’s so good that we’re playing like we are, all of us know that the biggest games are in May!
It really is so nice to be winning for our @DelhiCapitals supporters though.
Special mention to our young superstar,…
Vipraj made a big impact in the match, notably helping to limit Bengaluru to a low score. He took out Phil Salt with a smart run-out, got rid of Virat Kohli and Krunal Pandya, and ended the day with impressive bowling stats of 2 wickets for just 18 runs in 4 overs. Along with Kuldeep Yadav, the pair’s skillful bowling was essential when the batting lineup struggled early on.
Rahul’s brilliant unbeaten innings of 93 helped lead Delhi to a six-wicket win despite an earlier top-order collapse. Once the Royal Challengers finished their innings at 163, the Capitals just needed to play sensibly. Unfortunately, that was a bit rare among some of their main batters that night. But Rahul really shone as the player of the match, scoring his runs off 53 balls, with seven fours and six sixes. He partnered with Tristan Stubbs, who contributed a steady 38 not out—together they added a crucial 111 runs for the fourth wicket, securing DC’s fourth consecutive win.
Looking ahead, the Delhi Capitals have their next clash against the Mumbai Indians on Sunday, April 13, and it should be an exciting match at their home ground.
