According to the statement given by Bobat, the Director of Cricket for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Virat Kohli is already an overexposed figure, and he seeks no more limelight. The upcoming IPL 2025 is now garnering attention with Royal Challengers Bangalore going into the last phases against the Kolkata Knight Riders. May 12 might have been a tragic day on one hand, yet an affluent chapter coming to an end, seeing Kohli having bid adieu to his Test Career.
According to Bobat, Kohli is pumped up for what this team can do this season, and he certainly has a lot to be proud of as far as his Test career with India goes. “Virat is just doing his thing. He doesn’t want more attention; he’s ready to focus on the game. He’s ambitious about what RCB can do this year,” Bobat said at the pre-match press conference.
He expressed that he is proud of what the players do for India, especially Kohli in Test cricket. Having worked with the English team, Bobat commented on Kohli always being the wicket that everyone wanted in Test matches. “You knew if he was there, it was going to be tough. Some of my best Test match memories are with him,” he reflected. He recalled the 2018 series in England, with some great memories from the Edgbaston Test between Kohli and Anderson.
