Virat Kohli, the star batter, has nine T20 centuries. The 36-year-old hit eight in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and one against Afghanistan in Dubai in 2022, putting him third on the list of most centuries in the format. In the next IPL, the Delhi-born cricketer can move up the table past Babar Azam, who has 11 centuries.
Babar Azam scored three centuries in T20Is and eight in franchise cricket. Chris Gayle tops the list with 22 centuries in 45 innings. Kohli scored nine in 382 innings, while Babar got 11 in 299.
It’s really hard to score three centuries in an IPL season, but Kohli has done it before. In 2016, the former RCB captain hit four centuries and scored 973 runs. He was amazing. If he plays with the same energy this season, he could break Babar’s record and become number two on the list. Babar, on the other hand, could lead by doing well in the next Pakistan Super League (PSL).
RCB will play the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, in the opening game of IPL 2025. Rajat Patidar will lead the team this season after Faf du Plessis was released before the mega auction. The team practiced in Bengaluru, attended the Unbox event, and have now arrived in Kolkata to get ready for the opening match of the big tournament, which will be on March 22.
