During the 17th match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League 2025 between Sylhet Strikers and Khulna Titans, Mohammad Nazwa and Tanzim Hasan had a physical altercation. Nawaz is playing for the Tigers while Hasan is playing for the Strikers. The incident occurred during the 17th over of the Tigers’ innings when Nawaz was caught at short third man by Zakir Hasan.
Tanzim bowled a slower one outside off stump and flummoxed the Pakistani international. After being caught at the short third man, the left-hander was walking back to the crease when Hasan barged his shoulders with him. What followed was a heated conversation between the two only to be separated by the Strikers’ players and the on-field umpires.

Talking about the game, the 2023 finalists batted first after losing the toss. They managed to score 182/5, thanks to Rony Talukdar (56), Zakir Hasan (75*), Aaron Jones (20), and Ariful Haque (21*). For the Tigers, Abu Hider and Ziaur Rahman took two wickets each while Nasum Ahmed took one. In reply, the Mehidy Hasan Miraj-led side had a poor start as they lost four wickets for 81 runs.
However, Nawaz (33) and wicketkeeper Mahidul Islam (28) provided some hope to the team but the team kept losing wickets at the wrong time. They ended up getting only 174/9, losing the game by eight runs.

Tanzim Hasan and Mohammad Nawaz might get fined
The incident happened on January 12 and so far, no action has been taken officially. As per the rules of the ICC, “any inappropriate physical contact with a player, umpire, or other person is prohibited during an international match. The ICC match referee is responsible for making the final decision on any potential breach of conduct.” Both Nawaz and Hasan can be slapped with Level 1 offense which means a monetary fine is coming their way.
