For the first match of the ODI tri-series, South Africa has a number of new options to consider, with six uncapped players drafted into the Bavuma-led side.
So far The likes of Meeka-eel Prince, Gideon Peters, Eathan Bosch, and Mihali Mpongwana have yet to get a chance at the international level, while Matthew Breetzke has previously played Tests and T20Is, and Senuran Muthusamy has played four Tests for the Proteas.
Afterwards, the squad will be varying during this series, depending on when the ongoing SA20 league in South Africa finishes. Some of the members are Keshav Maharaj and Heinrich Klaasen, set to join them from the second game in the series.
Starting on February 8, the tri-series will commence, with New Zealand opening against Pakistan at the Gaddafi Stadium. The Kiwis will go against South Africa next on February 10 in a day match.
After the first two matches of the event, the ODI match will be held in Karachi, with the Men in Green facing the Proteas in a day/night match scheduled for February 12.
The tri-nation final will take place on February 14 at the same venue, just five days before the tournament opener on February 19. The tri-nation series in Pakistan is a precursor to the ICC Champions Trophy, which starts from February 19.
