In a nail biting finish to the Women’s Delhi Premier League 2025, South Delhi Superstarz won by a single run against Central Delhi Queens. The final match was played at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday night and had the audience on the edge of their seats till the last ball.
The Queens had problems right from the start while chasing 122. Superstarz’s bowlers made some quick plays and made it tough for the Queens. After the rain interruption the Queens found it hard to get going and their chase slowed down.
Superstarz seemed to be in control when the score was 74/5. But Monika with 33 off 28 balls and Riya Shokeen who was not out with 28 off 28 balls started to turn things around. Their 33 run partnership gave the Queens some hope. Superstarz were worried but things changed when Monika got out. Shokeen had to win the game with the tailenders. Queens gave it their all but finished their innings at 120/8, one run short of the target.
