Australia won the third Test at Sabina Park, Kingston and completed a 3-0 whitewash over West Indies. The hosts were thrashed and broke several records.
Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland were outstanding with the ball. The match was over in three days with Australia defending a small target and bowling West Indies out for 27 in their 4th innings and breaking several records.

1. West Indies’ Lowest Total in Tests:
West Indies were bowled out for 27 in their 2nd innings, their lowest score in Test cricket. The previous low was 47 against England at the same ground in 2004. This is also the second lowest total in Test history behind New Zealand’s 26 against England in 1955.
2. Fewest Runs in a Test for West Indies:
West Indies scored 170 runs in both innings. This is their lowest score in a Test where they were dismissed twice. The previous low was 175 against England at The Oval in 1957.
3. Shortest Innings in Modern Test Cricket:
West Indies were bowled out in 14.3 overs, the third shortest completed innings in Test history. Only South Africa (12.3 overs in 1924) and Sri Lanka (13.5 overs in 2023) have been dismissed faster.
4. Seven Ducks in One Innings:
West Indies reached a new unwanted record with seven players getting out for a duck in a single Test innings. This is the first time in Test history that seven players didn’t score in a single innings.
5. Fastest Five-Wicket Haul in Test History:
Mitchell Starc took a five-wicket haul in 15 balls, breaking the previous record of 19 balls held by Ernie Toshack, Stuart Broad and Scott Boland. This is now the fastest five-wicket haul in men’s Test cricket
6. Fewest Balls Bowled in a Four-Innings Test Since 1910:
1045 balls were bowled in four innings in Kingston, the shortest four-innings Test. It’s also the 7th lowest score of 516 since 1910 and the 4th shortest Test with four innings overall.

7. West Indies Lose First Three Wickets Without Scoring:
Mitchell Starc took three wickets in his first over and West Indies were 0/3. This is the 6th time in Test history where a team has lost its first three wickets without scoring.
8. Top Six Score Only Six Runs: West Indies’
The top six batters scored six runs in the 2nd innings, the lowest by any team’s top six in a Test innings. The previous record was 12 runs by Australia against England in 1888.
9. Boland’s Hat-Trick:
Scott Boland took a hat-trick, the 10th Australian to do so in Tests. Australia’s 12th Test hat-trick, second only to England’s 15.
10. Starc’s 6 for 9:
Mitchell Starc’s 6 for 9 is the best ever by a player in their 100th Test. Muttiah Muralidaran’s 6 for 54 against Bangladesh in 2006 was the previous best.
11. No Individual Score of Fifty Plus:
Steven Smith’s 48 was the highest individual score in the Test. Only 16 men’s Tests have had no individual scores above 50.
12. Starc Reaches 400 Test Wickets:
Mitchell Starc took 400 Test wickets in 19062 balls, second fastest to do so by balls bowled, behind only Dale Steyn (16634 balls).
13. Two Bowlers Take 3 Wickets in the First Over:
Mitchell Starc is only the second bowler since 2002 to take three wickets in the first over of a Test innings. Irfan Pathan was the first, who took a hat-trick in the opening over against Pakistan in Karachi in 2006.
