Presenter Tanay Tiwari narrates a little story of how Rohit Sharma helped him early in his career after a little mishap during an interview. While seated at a tiny table with a lot going on, Tiwari spilled hot coffee on Rohit. Rohit did not get angry and took it in good humor.
Tiwari said that he was going berserk after spilling the coffee while he was an intern with Mumbai Indians back in 2017, fearing it might jeopardize his career in the industry. There was somebody else from my team with me who really let me have it. But Rohit’s reaction was very calm, telling me: Let it go, he’s just a kid. It’s just coffee. Keep going with your questions.
That was quite a big moment for Tanay, and he has thanked Rohit many times in later years. “I told him, ‘You probably don’t realize how much joy you bring to so many people,'” he added.
Rohit has just retired from Tests but still plays ODIs. He is now playing for Mumbai in the IPL 2025 and has put up 329 runs in 13 matches. The next game is against the Gujarat Titans; it is the Eliminator this season and will take place on Friday in Mullanpur. This season is shaping up to be a good one for them, as was last year when they finished fourth.
