Jasprit Bumrah played the three Tests as planned. Will he miss the fifth and final Test at The Oval starting July 31 where India hopes to draw the series?
India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir has allayed fears about his fast bowlers’ fitness saying there are no injuries. But he didn’t confirm if Bumrah will play in the fifth Test.
On Sunday, India batted well to ensure the fourth Test in Manchester ended in a draw after being behind for most part of the game. Shubman Gill and all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar scored centuries as India reached 425/4 before both teams agreed to a draw.
During the Test, Bumrah’s pace was down and he was limping towards the dressing room and struggling to climb the stairs which raised concerns about an injury. Akash Deep is recovering from a groin issue, Arshdeep Singh cut his bowling hand before the game and Mohammed Siraj has bowled in all four Tests.

All the fast bowlers are fit. There are no injuries, said Gambhir on Sunday.
When asked if Bumrah will be rested for the last game after playing three Tests, Gambhir said, We haven’t discussed the team for the last Test. No decision has been taken on Jasprit Bumrah’s participation. Whoever plays will try to do their best for the country.
England leads the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2-1. A draw in the fifth Test starting Thursday is enough for them to win the series. India wants to finish strongly and wants all their key players including Bumrah to be available.
Gill was unsure about Bumrah’s availability. We’ll have to wait and see, he said.
