Shardul Thakur IPL Debut
Shardul Thakur played his debut IPL match on MAY 01, 2015. He started his career as a medium pacer. He represented Kings XI Punjab (Currently Punjab Kings) against Delhi Capitals.
It wasn’t a memorable debut for Shardul, as he took one wicket in his three-over spell while conceding 38 runs. His debut match is the only match he played in the IPL 2015 season.

Shardul Thakur Performance in IPL 2024
Shardul Thakur had not so good IPL season in 2024. He mostly bowls after the first powerplay and in middle overs.
Shardul played in nine matches for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and bowled over 31 overs but took just 5 wickets with a poor economy of 9.76.
His season best performance came against Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he took 2 wickets and conceded 61 runs in his four overs. His bowling average is close to 62 in IPL 2024.

Shardul Thakur IPL Auction Price & History
Shardul made his IPL debut in 2015 for Kings XI Punjab (Currently Punjab Kings) who acquired him for 2 Cr. where he played just one game and then the Punjab kings Released him. He didn’t not play in ipl 2016.
Before the IPL 2017 season, he was traded to the Rising Pune Supergiant. During his 12 games in ipl 2017, Shardul took 11 wickets. Later, he was picked for 2.6 Cr by the Chennai Super Kings during the 2018 mega auction. He played 4 consecutive IPL seasons for CSK from 2018 to 2021.
In 2021, Shardul gave an outstanding performance for his team and he became the leading wicket-taker for CSK with 21 wickets in 16 matches.
He was released by CSK ahead of the 2022 auction, and because of excellent performance last season he was picked up by Delhi Capitals for a whopping price of 10.75 Cr.
Thakur played for the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023 after being transferred by Delhi Capitals during the trading window. KKR wagered the same amount on him in 2023 as they did in the 2022 action.
In 2024, he again featured for CSK after the franchise acquired him in the 2024 mini- auction for INR 4 Cr.
