Kiran Navgire, known for her power-hitting, is making noise in the quarter-finals of the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy 2024/25. Batting for Maharashtra, she turned up the heat in Rajkot, taking Railways bowlers to the cleaners.
After winning the toss, Railways captain Sneh Rana asked Maharashtra to bat first. Railways’ bowlers were successful in keeping Maharashtra batters in check, reducing them to 166 for six after 41 overs.
Navgire was a new batter on the crease, with the game already in the death overs. Then the right-hand batter took matters into her hands, smashing Railways’ bowlers for eight sixes within the span of five overs.

Navgire’s Six-Hitting Rampage
Navgire started with three sixes in the 42nd over, dancing down the track to slam left-arm spinner Preeti Bose over long on and mid-wicket. Then into the 44th over, she hit two 90-plus-metre sixes over long on against B Anusha.
In the next over, she cleared the fence over the covers against Simran Dil Bahadur before completing her fifty off 20 balls with a maximum on the third ball of the 46th over. She sent the fifth ball flying over the ropes to end Rana’s over with 22 runs.
Navgire’s blazing knock, though, came to an end in the next over after she failed to connect with the ball well, handing a catch to Dayalan Hemalatha towards mid-wicket. She belted 64 runs from 25 balls at a strike rate of 256.00 after coming in at No. 7.
After Navgire’s departure in the 47th over, Maharashtra lost their last four wickets. But her fiery knock helped Maharashtra put up 254 runs on the board, setting a challenging target for Railways.
