During the ongoing BBL 2024-25 match between Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunders at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), a part of the roof fell off. The incident happened before the start of the game. In a video that is going viral, part of the roof started to come off with a 52 km/h wind blowing across the stadium.
The part of the roof fell off, resulting in a spectator looking for an escape. Thankfully, no one was harmed during the incident. The incident took less than 24 hours after a DJ spot caught fire during the Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes clash at the Gabba. The incident happened after the completion of four overs in the second innings.

BBL 2024-25 reaching it’s business end
Talking about the tournament, the 13th season is about to come to its conclusion. All eight teams have played nine games each and are looking to qualify for the playoffs which will feature five teams. Teams such as Sydney Thunders and Sydney Sixers, who are currently in action, are aiming for the second spot. The Thunders have 11 points in nine games while the Sixers have 13 points to their name.

The ongoing game between the two has been impacted by the rain for the second time. First interruption came after 1.4 overs into the Thunders as they were asked to bat first after losing the toss. After the resumption, the match was reduced to 19 overs per side. However, when the sixth over of the innings started, rain arrived again and has paused the match at the time of writing.
Talking about other teams, Hobart Hurricanes, who are yet to win the BBL title, are sitting on the top of the table. All the teams such as Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades, Perth Scorchers, Adelaide Strikers, and Brisbane Heat are still alive to finish in the top five.
