New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry set a world record on Sunday, March 2, by becoming the first-ever bowler to take a five-wicket haul against India in the ICC Champions Trophy. The match was played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on the occasion of the Champions Trophy 2025 between India and New Zealand. Henry finished the match with a figure of 5 for 42 in 8 overs and restricted India to 249 for 9 in 50 overs.
Henry opened his account by trapping Shubman Gill (2) in front of the wickets in the third over of the match, fifth ball. To add in, in the seventh over, he bagged the prized scalp of Virat Kohli. Kohli, playing in his 300th ODI for India, could make only 11 runs off 14 balls.
Jadeja was Henry’s third victim after scoring 16 runs off 20 balls. The 33-year-old fast bowler dismissed Hardik Pandya (45) on the third ball from the last over and he completed his five-for on the last ball by taking the wicket of Mohammed Shami.
