India lifted yet another international trophy with a four-wicket victory over New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy final on Sunday.
Rohit Sharma’s version of the match-winning chase included 76 runs off 83 balls, while Lokesh Rahul’s not-out score of 34 saw India to the target of 254-6 in 49 overs, thereby winning the Champions Trophy for the third time.
This was India’s 23rd win in its 24 matches over the past three mens’ ICC events since 2023- the sole loss being against Australia in the final of the 2023 Cricket World Cup. Last year, India won the final of the T20 World Cup against South Africa.
