Nitish Kumar Reddy, the Indian all-rounder, is ready to play for Sunrisers Hyderabad again. He passed a fitness test after being out for two months with a side strain since the T20I series against England.
PTI reports that Reddy finished all the fitness tests, like the yo-yo test, at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. The physios said he’s good to go.
Reddy last played for India in the first T20I against England on January 22 at Eden Gardens, but he didn’t get to bat or bowl.
He practiced before the second T20I in Chennai but had to miss that game and the whole series because of a side strain.
Hyderabad kept Reddy for Rs 6 crore before the IPL 2025 mega-auction. He scored 303 runs in 13 games for them at a strike rate of 143.

Reddy will be back with the Hyderabad team soon. Their first IPL 2025 game is on March 23 against the Rajasthan Royals at home.
Aakash Chopra, a former Indian batter, thinks Reddy’s body wasn’t ready for the demands of international cricket. That’s why he got hurt, Chopra said.
Reddy made a name for himself with his batting in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He got the team out of tough spots and scored his first Test century at the MCG.
He played in all five Tests, and Chopra believes his body may need time to get used to the workload of international cricket.
