Varun Aaron, the former Indian pacer, thinks England’s batting line up will struggle in the third Test against India at Lord’s. He believes Jasprit Bumrah’s return to the Indian pace attack will make it even more difficult for the English batsmen.
Shubman Gill, the captain, confirmed Bumrah’s return after they won the series at Edgbaston. Mohammed Siraj is in great form, having taken 7 wickets in the second Test, 6 in the first innings. Akash Deep also had a good game with 10 wickets, 6 in the second innings. The idea of Bumrah, Siraj and Akash playing together is exciting for India and will be intimidating for England.
India have won two of their last three games at Lord’s in their last three tours.
Aaron said on JioHotstar that he doesn’t think England’s batsmen will be comfortable at Lord’s, especially after how well Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep bowled in the last Test. He added that Jasprit Bumrah’s return makes it even more threatening.
He also said that Ravindra Jadeja has been accurate with his bowling, even though he hasn’t taken the most wickets in the series.
Aaron said that Washington Sundar has looked reliable. He also pointed out that Prasidh Krishna showed clear improvement in his final spell on Day 5 at Edgbaston, especially in the morning. He was focused on hitting his areas consistently which makes a big difference.

He didn’t take any wickets in the second innings while defending 371 runs despite his best efforts.
So far in the series, Siraj has 9 wickets at 33.33 in two Tests. Akash Deep has 10 wickets in his only Test. Jadeja (2 wickets) and Sundar (1 wicket) have also picked up wickets.
