Shoaib Bashir will miss the last two Tests of the series. England’s team management confirmed this after their narrow win over India at Lord’s.
Bashir bowled less than 6 overs in the match winning session and got the l
batter out, number 11 Mohammed Siraj. The 21-year-old hurt his finger on Day 3 of the Lord’s Test when Ravindra Jadeja hit a shot back at him.
Bashir is England’s main spinner in the current 5-match Test series against India and is out of the last two Tests as he dislocated his finger in the first Indian innings of the 3rd Test at Lord’s. The England team management confirmed he has fractured his left finger and will have surgery later this week.
The 4th Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar series starts on Wednesday, July 23 at Old Trafford in Manchester.

Bashir took 2 wickets in both innings of the Lord’s Test. One of them won the match for England on Day 5. In total he has taken 10 wickets in 6 innings over 3 matches, averaging 54.10 with a strike rate of 84.4.
It’s not clear yet who will replace Bashir for the rest of the series against India. Jack Leach, Rehan Ahmed and Liam Dawson are the possible options for the England team management.
