Irfan Pathan has asked the media to stop spreading false news that he had doubts about Jasprit Bumrah’s workload management. This was before the 4th Test against England in Manchester starting from July 23.
Pathan posted on X, saying that if Bumrah wanted to bowl one more over, no team would stop him. He never questioned Team India about this.
Absolutely not. If Bumrah wanted to bowl another over or asked the captain for one when Joe Root came in, no team or management in the world would stop him. So please stop spreading fake news-I never questioned Team India on this.

When the India team was announced for the England Test series, Ajit Agarkar, the chief selector, said that Bumrah was told to avoid playing consecutive Tests to manage his workload. This was because Bumrah had a stress reaction in his back during the 5th Test against Australia in Sydney in January.
Bumrah played in the 1st and 3rd Test and India lost both. He had some good spells but the team couldn’t win. With 2 Tests to go and India trailing 1-2 in the series, Panesar thinks India should give their all in Manchester next week since Bumrah can play in one of those.
In the 1st Test at Headingley, Bumrah led India’s attack and took 5/83 in the first innings. But during India’s attempt to defend 371, Bumrah didn’t take any wickets.
In the 3rd Test at Lord’s, Bumrah caused problems for England’s batting line up and got 5 wickets in one go. He took 2 more wickets in the second go and finished with 7/112 for the match but India still lost by 22 runs.

After the training session on Thursday, India’s assistant coach, Ryan ten Doeschate, said Bumrah might play in Manchester. He said they will decide about Bumrah in Manchester, knowing he can play in one of the last two Tests. He said because the series is at stake in Manchester, there’s a tendency to want him to play.
He also said they have to think about the weather, what gives them the best chance to win and how that fits with the game at The Oval, considering both games as part of the series.
