The Asia Cup 2025 is getting messy and what should be a great time for cricket fans is turning into a circus, mostly because of Pakistan cricket. Just when we thought the handshake thing with the Indian team was the end of it, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is now taking another issue to the ICC.
Apparently the PCB isn’t happy with the catch that got Fakhar Zaman out, claiming it was controversial. They’ve gone to the ICC about it. But what’s the issue this time?
Well, Fakhar Zaman was doing pretty well against India in the Asia Cup Super 4 match. He’d scored 15 runs off 9 balls before this happened. A ball from Hardik Pandya edged off Zaman’s bat and Sanju Samson the Indian wicket-keeper made a low catch.

The umpires checked it out and Ruchira Palliyaguruge the umpire from Sri Lanka said Zaman was out. He thought Samson’s gloves were under the ball when he made the catch. Zaman didn’t agree and Geo News reports that the PCB has officially complained about the call.
This isn’t the first time Pakistan has complained during this Asia Cup. Earlier in a group stage match against India the Indian team didn’t shake hands with the Pakistan team led by Suryakumar Yadav.
That really upset the PCB and they complained about the match referee not keeping things in order. The ICC didn’t buy it and the PCB even threatened to skip a game in the UAE before changing their minds.
Most likely this new complaint from the PCB will also be turned down. After all umpires aren’t robots and they can make mistakes.
