Last Sunday’s India vs Pakistan Super 4 match in the Asia Cup 2025 was more than just a cricket game. Some fans and experts on social media didn’t like how Pakistani players Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan behaved, calling them immature.
Before Pakistan’s last Super 4 match against Bangladesh, pacer Shaheen Afridi was asked about Rauf and Farhan’s actions.
Shaheen told reporters on Wednesday that the team should be more focused on playing cricket than on field celebrations. Our job is to play cricket. Everyone can express themselves however they want, Shaheen said about the criticism against Haris and Sahibzada.

He tried to calm the situation, saying, Everyone has their own way of thinking and showing respect. We’re here to play cricket, win the tri-nation Series and win the Asia Cup. We’re doing our best as a team to make that happen.
Pakistan has already lost twice to India in the Asia Cup. They might play again in the final on September 28. Shaheen is confident that his team can beat India if they meet in the final.
They aren’t in the final yet. We’re ready to play and beat whoever we face. We’re here to win the final and the Asia Cup, he said.
The left arm pacer also said that Pakistan is determined to win more games against top teams. We haven’t won much against those teams. But we’re competing well against the teams we play now, he said.
