Sarfaraz Khan, a right-handed batter from Mumbai, will be the latest batter to shape up ahead of India’s two-match Test series against the Windies. The cricketer has been out with a quadriceps injury and is presently hitting the gym to get fit at the Centre of Excellence (COE).
Now, according to Devendra Pandey of the Indian Express, the cricketer will become fully fit by September 29, which is just a few days short of the start of the first Test against the West Indies at Ahmedabad. It would, therefore, be an interesting watch if he gets into the Test squad or not.
Sarfaraz Khan has missed a few important games recently, including Duleep Trophy matches for West Zone, alongside missing out on the two unofficial Tests against Australia A. The cricketer got injured during the Buchi Babu Tournament at Mumbai but was quite consistent in red-ball cricket prior to that.

Excluded from the Indian Test side for the tour of England, Sarfaraz Khan nevertheless did well when he got opportunities with the A team. Sarfaraz Khan in general has a Test average of 37.10 with three fifties and a hundred to his credit; an excellent first-class average of 65.98; and even in the Test series against New Zealand, batted with a century in the first Test.
He did not get a game in Australia and has since been left out of international cricket. The failure of Karun Nair in England has opened up discussions around the possible recall of Sarfaraz Khan. It would therefore be interesting to see whether the selectors would place their trust in Sarfaraz to go straight into the international arena after missing domestic matches due to injury.
