New Zealand are all set to host England for a white-ball series comprising six matches, including three T20Is and three ODIs. The first T20I takes place on October 18 (Friday) at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, marking the start of the series. The last confrontation between the two teams in T20I was in September 2023.
New Zealand under captaincy of Mitchell Santner has been a powerhouse in T20 cricket this season, with a 4-1 victory over Pakistan and tri-series with Zimbabwe and South Africa being unbeaten. Recently they suffered a 2-0 defeat against Australia and will have to do without their crucial players, including Finn Allen, Will O’Rourke, Glenn Phillips, and Lockie Ferguson, who are all injured.
On the contrary, England has been proving themselves aggressive in their play lately, coming out victorious against West Indies and Ireland, while drawing 1-1 against South Africa. With the playing XI already declared, it will be a very challenging task for Harry Brook’s England to keep their aggression alive throughout the series.
