On Sunday, India celebrated a historic moment on the pitch when they knocked out South Africa in the final and secured their very first Women’s World Cup. After scoring 298 runs, India women bowled out the South Africans for 246 runs and won the Women’s World Cup title for the first time. India was represented by Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma in batting and bowling and the team led by Harmanpreet Kaur finally got rid of the World Cup curse. Their victory is going to be heavily rewarded and we will explain it shortly.
ICC Prize Money Distributions: How Much Money Will India Get?
It is important to note that, for the 2025 Women’s World Cup, the ICC has assigned a total prize money of USD 13.88 million, which is an increase of 297 per cent as compared to the previous pool. Approximately INR 123 Crores will be shared among the eight teams that are participating with India getting the biggest share for being the title holder.
The ICC would give Indian Women’s team, USD 4.48 million (INR 39.78 crores), as a reward for winning the Women’s World Cup. The amount is almost 239 per cent more than what Australia, the last edition’s winners, received post their victory in the 2022 final.

On the other hand, South Africa Women, the runners-up, will get exactly half of the prize money given to India, which is USD 2.24 million or 19.88 Crores of Indian currency.
The eliminated semifinalists, Australia and England Women, will get USD 1.12 million (INR 9.94 Crores) each for being among the top four teams. The ICC grants USD 250,000 to each of the eight participating teams, while USD 34314 is given to the teams for each victory during the group stage of the competition.
The BCCI will reward the current world cup champions with an amount of INR 51 crores as an extra prize that will be divided among all the Indian players, coaches, and support staff who participate in making the 2025 campaign a great success.
