After leading India to the stepping success of the World Cup 2024 as a head coach, Rahul Dravid is set to be the new head coach of the Rajasthan Royals. As per the latest reports of ESPN, the ex Indian head coach after resigning from the responsibility of Indian head coach he has made himself available for the shorter duration of the domestic season.
According to ESPN Cricinfo, the renowned Karnataka cricketer has recently joined the franchise and played a key role in deciding which players to retain. The report indicates that Rahul Dravid will take on the role of head coach, while the former Sri Lankan captain, Kumar Sangakkara, will maintain his position as director of the team.”

Dravid Makes A Comeback At Rajasthan Royals
As per the news report, Rahul would be taking on the position of the head coach for the Royals ahead of the IPL 2025. He would be taking on the position of Kumar Sangakkara, who is the current head coach for the Rajasthan Royals. And Sangakkara would be in incharge as the Director of Cricket of the franchise. He will serve as head coach for RR’s sister franchises, the Paarl Royals in the SA20 and the Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League.
Rahul Dravid has a significant history with the Royals, he has served as the Captain of the Rajasthan Royals in the year 2012 and 2013. He also has been in the shoes of the team director and mentor in the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Dravid also shares a close bond with the current captain of Rajasthan Royals, Sanju Samson, they both shared time together in the Under-19 circuit when the former India captain was coaching the junior side.
It is also in the news that the former Indian Batter, Vikram Rathour will also be joining RR as the Assistant Coach at Rajasthan Royals.
